The kidnapping of a few people and the subsequent arrest of Dr. Maaran (Vijay), who the investigating officer Rathnavel (Sathyaraj) believes is the mastermind, mark the beginning of the movie. As he questions the doctor about why he allowed himself to be apprehended, he discovers that Vetri (Vijay), a magician and Maaran lookalike, is actually responsible for these crimes. What does Vetri seek, and how does he relate to Maaran?

The movie is lengthy in length, just like the masala movies it seeks to imitate. Before and after the intermission, there are two flashbacks that are shown to us. Additionally, Vetri and Maaran each receive a love song from Atlee. The two actresses, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha, manage to produce some amusing moments in the scant amount of time that they are given, despite the fact that these are just generic ones.
